Professional Studies. Week 12 - Employment. 10/12/13

Writing a covering letter will encourage employers to hire you. It is important to research the company before you apply so you can aim the letter towards the person they are looking for. You should also ring them to confirm who you should be writing the letter too if you aren't sure, this shows initiative.

When writing a covering letter you should stick to this structure:
  1. The role you wish to apply for/ requesting work experience
  2. Why you are suitable for the job? Skills, qualifications etc.
  3. What can you bring to the company? Career goal - make relevant.
  4. Interest in role and indicate an interview
  5. Closing the letter.
Remember to proof read before sending!
